Colombia Rigoberto Diaz Navarro Natural Process

We’re proud to present this exceptional Castillo variety from Don Rigoberto Díaz Navarro, grown on his family’s farm, El Limo, located at 2,000 meters above sea level in Zaragoza, Yacuanquer, Nariño. A third-generation coffee producer, Don Rigoberto continues a legacy that began over 40 years ago with his father, José María Díaz. Since acquiring the land in 1972, the family has remained dedicated to sustainable, quality driven coffee production. Though no longer residing on the farm, Don Rigoberto and his family maintain a strong connection to El Limo. Of its 4 hectares, 3.5 are planted with a diverse mix of Castillo varieties including Castillo Tambo, Zona Sur, Cenicafé, and Colombia at a density of about 5,000 trees per hectare. Selective hand-harvesting ensures only ripe cherries are picked, reflecting their commitment to excellence over volume. This lot underwent an 18–24 hour fermentation followed by 12 days of patio drying. As participants in Azahar Coffee’s Picker’s Project, the family employs practices that promote both cup quality and social equity. They also intercrop with maize and beans to enrich the soil and support food security. Don Rigoberto shares: “Thanks to the work we’ve done in coffee production, we’ve been able to build our house and buy a car to help us travel to the capital. Everything we’ve achieved so far is because of coffee.” He adds: “We want our buyers to know that the added value in our coffee reflects the hard work we put into cultivation. That value allows us to improve our lives and reinvest in the farm. We’re truly grateful for your support.”
