Bochessa
One of my favorite things about coffee is hearing coffee producers, green coffee buyers, and home brewers dial-in to their favorite regions of Ethiopia from a washed-coffee perspective. From the essential-oil profiles of Nekemte, to the soapy-clean lasers from Yirgacheffe, to the peach bombs of Guji, folks are passionate about championing the washed expressions from these regions and areas. At BOTZ, we’re particularly excited about washed coffees from Arbegona. We’re constantly trying to understand them because they seem to offer an idyllic BOTZ combination of intense citrus, pome fruits (think all types of pear and apple), and concentrated florals. In a way, the cup tends to glisten like a fresh cider with complex buttery and floral sensations (as a side note, “cider” does tend to be a common flavor note we’ve seen on copious green buyers’ cupping forms and logs). If you’re passionate about Ethiopian coffees, their regional expressions, and going deeper into flavor nuance, we think Bochessa offers a stunning coffee to brew, sip, and internalize!
